Mercer >IS< Super

Mercer >IS< Super is a very easy-to-use tool allowing advisers to comparing a wide range of super funds on investments, insurance, fees and services. The tool includes Mercer >IS< Super Indicative Star Ratings for all investment options available within super funds, based on Mercer’s institutional ratings on underlying managers and adjusted for fees. The Fee and Insurance Premium calculators allows advisers to customise the dollar fee comparison required by the regulator. Advisers can save time and minimise compliance risk by exporting the standard and customised information into pre-set word templates.

Functionality

With Mercer >IS< Super, you can:

• Compare a wide range of industry, corporate, government, retail employer and retail personal superannuation funds;
• Generate product profiles on each super fund and comparison reports on up to three super funds, summarising key information on:
  • Investments
  • Insurance
  • Services
  • Fees
• Generate one page fund profiles for individual investment options summarising information on:
  • Investment fees and costs
  • Buy/sell spreads
  • Performance
  • Asset allocation
  • Underlying managers
  • Indicative Star Rating^*
• Calculate the customised $ amounts for fees and insurance premiums by putting in the client details such as investment amounts (which takes into account any volume rebates), commission rebates, age, occupation and salary;
• Export the standard and customised information into pre-specified Word templates for easy incorporation into client reports.

^* Mercer >IS< Super is unique in calculating an Indicative Star Rating on each investment option based on a weighted average of Mercer’s qualitative institutional ratings for the underlying investment managers.

Mercer >IS< Super is also unique in NOT issuing an overall rating on the super fund. We believe that issues such as the value of certain insurance features and services are unique to individual members, and assigning scores based on an arbitrary judgement may not be in the best interests of members. By giving users all the necessary information, we encourage advisers to customise their recommendations to client circumstances.

If you represent a super fund ...

Mercer has collated information from public sources such as the Product Disclosure Statements, Annual Reports and websites. We send the report to the super fund for verification. If you represent a super fund, we encourage you to verify this information as it gives you exposure to more than 3,000 advisers and there is no fee to be included. We would be happy to give you free access to the tool for a limited period so you can see how the information is displayed.

How much does it cost to subscribe?

Super funds/platforms around $25,000 + GST per annum
Financial planners (non-FPA members) - $2,000 + GST per annum per adviser

1. Please submit your application for these exclusive FPA rates by clicking here. You may choose your own log-in details provided the user name is not already being used.
2. You will receive a licence agreement by email within 2 days, which needs to be signed and returned, to activate your account. Subscribers with multiple users will also have to provide details of additional users.
3. You will be invoiced for 12 months and receive 1 month free trial access while this is settled and for you to ensure Mercer >IS< Super meets your needs
4. On receipt of your payment, you will receive 12 months access which is renewable at the exclusive FPA rate on an annual basis. If we do not receive payment in the first month it will be assumed you have cancelled the subscription.
